The Durable Anolon Skillet

Anolon Advanced French Open SkilletAn Anolon Skillet is a cookware workhorse. Restaurant tested, Anolon cookware is built tough enough to handle the everyday cooking and fast pace of a busy cook. The Anolon skillet is nonstick, anodized aluminum tough, and easy to clean.

Anolon Skillet Features
Anolon has three current cookware product lines, Advanced, Hard Anodized, and Allure.

  • All are anodized aluminum.
  • Advanced and Allure use the DuPont Autograph 2 non stick interior surface
  • Hard anodized uses a professional grade non stick interior surface
  • Advanced has the SureGrip silicone handle
  • Allure has stainless steel lids

Anolon Skillet Care and Use
It is recommended to hand wash Anolon hard anodized cookware in warm sudsy water with a nylon scrub pad. While some folks will put the skillet in the dishwasher, and it may work for a while, the high drying heat and harsh cleaning chemicals will degrade performance of the fine pan over time.

Anolon Allure Covered SkilletAnolon Skillet Shapes and Sizes
Skillets, also known as French skillets, omelet pans, and fry pans, usually come in sizes of 8 inches to 14 inches. Most are open, coming without a lid, but Anolon does offer a few skillets with lids. Usually they call skillets with lids "Ultimate Pans", and they usually have higher sides. The sides are sloped to make it easy to slide food out of the pan. (As an aside, if a pan looks like a skillet but has straight sides, it is usually called a saute pan.)

The Anolon Skillet on Sale
Anolon is priced rather well. Most of their skillets can be found on sale priced between $19.95 and $69.95.

The Anolon skillet is a durable workhorse in any kitchen. Regardless of which product line, they are all restaurant tested, non stick, and easy to clean, even if not dishwasher safe.

Happy Cooking!
