Lodge Cast Iron Cookware dates back to the early 1800's when Joseph Lodge founded the company. Now in its 4th generation of family ownership, Lodge makes some of the very best cast iron cookware, and at prices that are hard to beat.
Whether used on the stovetop for frying or grilling, inside the oven, or outside for camping, Lodge cookware has many uses. Now pre-seasoned at the factory in rural Tennessee, it is easy to make healthy Lodge cast iron cookware a part of your everyday cooking.
Lodge Cookware Lines
Lodge offers 3 lines of traditional cast iron cookware, and 2 lines of enameled cast iron cookware. The traditional cast iron cookware is made in the USA, pre-seasoned at the factory, and offers more than a hundred different pieces varied by shape or size. The enameled cast iron cookware is made in China with imported French enamel. This enamel is not a paint, but rather a glass-based product.
Recently I contacted Lodge with some questions about their cookware, and received not one, but two very prompt and thorough communications. Here is an excerpt from Customer Service Representative Reba Wooden:
"The difference between the Logic, Pro Logic and Signature Series is the design. All three lines are pre-seasoned and made here in the USA.
Yes, the enamel cookware is made in China. We meet the FDA standards.
The steps below are taken in an effort to ensure that these items are of the highest quality possible, and we will continue to monitor all Lodge enamel cookware very closely.
Lodge cast iron cookware is an excellent choice for a wide variety of cooking methods. The quality is excellent. The prices are fantastic. I own a couple pieces of Lodge cookware because it is a healthy cookware, and I can report I am very pleased with both the fry pan and grill pan. I know I will be adding more Lodge cast iron cookware to my collection soon.
