Of all the cookware sets available, several stand out as offering the best quality or best value. I have recommendations for you based on my research and actual handling of the cookware sets. Based on all the brands I cover, I have awarded certain brands, product lines, and cookware sets, as being the best in terms of 1) premium quality and 2) value, each based on the cookware set material.
For more information on choosing a kitchen cookware set, I refer you to my article on "Choosing a Kitchen Cookware Set."
In recommending cookware sets, I looked at 2 categories, Quality, and Value.
Best Quality - These cookware sets stand out as being well built and having a feature set that is only found on higher end cookware sets. These are expected to last a very long time.
Best Value - These cookware sets offer the most "bang for the buck." They offer more features than their price peers, are built better than their price peers, and although they probably won't last as long as the premium quality award winners, they are expected to outlast their peers.
Here are a few quick pointers on the materials. Stainless steel is generally considered a healthy material and is usually dishwasher safe. Hard anodized aluminum usually comes with a nonstick inner coating, is lighter in weight, and heats very well. Copper will heat the best, and usually requires hand washing. Nonstick is easy to cook with and clean up.
