Demeyere Athena

The Demeyere Athena line has 15 vessels and lids of varying sizes. The line offers casseroles, saucepots, saucepans, woks, frying pans, pancake pans, an oval fish pan, pressure cooker, duo grille, smoking set, a whistling tea kettle, and more. What sets the Athena line apart from the rest of the Demeyere cookware is that this line is 18/10 stainless steel electro-chemically altered with the company's own Silvinox treatment. This allows the product to look like fine silver, complete with the attractive white silver look of great platters without staining, or oxidizing. Demeyere uses a 7-ply material for vessels that require a heating core to go up the sides. This technology includes stainless steel and an aluminum core. The total thickness of the 7-ply material is determined by the methods of cooking for which the vessel is intended.

The Athena line also uses a 5-ply technology on its woks and pancake pans that have a nonstick surface. Handles are long and hollow, which is how they stop the conduction of heat so that they stay cool even for long periods on a stovetop.

DemeyereAthena.jpgDemeyere is the only manufacturer that takes into account each vessel's purpose when applying the material to the design. The Athena line's straight pots have the “Inductobase” technology which is a 7-ply surface of stainless steel around a 5 mm core of pure aluminum hermetically sealed to the bottom of the vessel that allows for fast and even conductivity, even at very low heats or heating elements with small diameters. Demeyere is especially concerned about being hygienic, and this line is no different. The cookware lacks screws and rivets; handles are welded to the body of the vessel in order to keep dirt and microbes from having a place to lodge. The bottoms of the vessels are hermetically sealed for the same purpose.

DishwasherSafe.gifThe Athena line is oven safe, dishwasher safe, and is designed to be durable over a long period of time.

Demeyere was launched in 1908, and is located near Antwerp Belgium. The company's top-of-the-line stainless steel, their interest in innovation, their clean lines and elegant designs, and their manufacturing processes set them apart in the world of cookware.

Demeyere Mistral

Demyere Mistral cookware is made of 18/10 stainless steel with a patented high gloss polish called Brinox. Demeyere's Mistral cookware has 20 different vessels and lids of varying sizes. The design of the Mistral line is set apart by its fluid lines that display the stainless steel's natural elegance. As is customary with Demeyere product lines, one will find a variety of classics alongside much specialized cookware such as sauce pans, steam cookers, conic saute pans, and simmering pans. Some items like the teppanyaki duo grill have a Silvinox finish that gives the stainless steel the appeal of fine silver. The Teppanyaki duo grill is a perfect example of the Mistral line's specialty items. This grill has the appearance of a silver platter yet it goes on either two burners or in the oven and can grill anything from fish, fried eggs, steaks, to kebabs or pizza.

The Demeyere Mistral line uses the technology for which Demeyere is best known. The saucepans and casseroles have the 7-ply Inductoseal that is stainless steel over a thick pure copper core hermetically sealed to the body of the vessels. The other 7-ply technology used for any vessel that requires heating up the sides is stainless steel over an aluminum core.

DemeyereMistral.jpgIt's typical as well for being safe on burners of any type, including induction. It's oven safe, dishwasher safe, and considered to be appropriate for professional or home cooks alike. As is the case with the entire line it's hygienic and lacks any rivets or screws so that dirt and microbes will not be allowed to fester. Demeyere prides itself on its specialty cookware and its variety of product lines for which home and professional cooks alike can use easily because it is dishwasher safe. They are equally famed for the clean and elegant lines of their stainless steel, their innovative manufacturing techniques, and their technology.

Demeyere Sirocco

Demeyere Sirocco cookware offers 20 different vessels and lids at many sizes; it's one of the company's large lines. The look is created by industrial designer Koen De Winter, a Canadian citizen of Belgian descent and one of the few Belgians who has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. As is characteristic of Demeyere products, the Sirocco line has many classic shapes as well numerous specialized ones including conic saute pans, steam cookers, simmering pots, and accessories. Demeyere uses an Inductoseal technology for the straight-sided pots in this line, which has seven layers of stainless steel with a copper core and a hermetically sealed base. The pots and pans that require heat distribution to the sides of the vessels use another 7-ply technology that is comprised of stainless steel layers around an aluminum core.

As is the case with every Demeyere line, the particular cooking technology—searing, boiling, pan frying, etc. dictates the thickness of the materials. This particular line is notable for its handle shapes which one will find quite unique among cookware in general and within Demeyere's company too.

DishwasherSafe.gifThe lack of rivets and screws, and the hermetically sealed bases of the cookware make cooking more hygienic. Demeyere Sirocco cookware is oven safe, can be used on any cooking stove surface including induction. It is dishwasher safe and has a 30 year warranty.

Demeyere was founded in 1908, and is located near Antwerp , Belgium . The philosophy of the Demeyere brand demands constant update in design, and innovation in manufacturing processes. In the 1960's, Demeyere pioneered the use of sandwich bottoms made of pure aluminum. They later developed a unique surface treatment called Brinox that prevents stains and keeps this product line's 18/10 stainless steel shining.

DemeyereSirocco.jpgThere are very few reviews of the Sirocco line at Amazon but they're all five star. One marvels at the beauty of the design and the performance of the cookware , “Consistent with my experience with all Demeyere cookware , the pan is exceptional. This particular line (I have pieces from several of their series, chiefly Apollo and Sirocco ) cooks with exceptional efficiency, needing a lower heat setting to achieve the same result as higher energy use with other cookware. Even heating is flawless. And the pan is exceptionally beautiful.”

Another says of the 3.2 quart saucepan with lid, “The pan arrived fast and in perfect shape, and I'm happy to recommend it to anyone who loves to cook.”

Demeyere Atlantis

Demeyere's Atlantis offers 20 different vessels and lids at numerous sizes; it is one of their most extensive product lines. This is the line that Demeyere advises all professional chefs consider along with their Apollo line. It includes their characteristic classic shapes along with specialty vessels. Demeyere organizes all products according to function. In the Atlantis cookware product line one will find pots, pans, skillets, soup kettles, and sauce pans, as well as vessels considered to be specialty items by the company including their simmering pots, conic saute pans, and woks. Each vessel uses either their 7-ply material of aluminum and stainless steel alloys or their “Inductoseal” technology. Vessels that require heat distribution up the sides of the pan will have the 7-ply TriplInduc, which is an aluminum core with stainless steel layers, adjusted to a different thickness for each pan according to its use.

DishwasherSafe.gifThe straight-sided pots and pans in this line use their patented “InductoSeal” technology. This hermetically sealed base is created with seven layers of stainless steel around a copper core. The vessels also have large, stainless steel handles that remain cool during hours of cooking. The company is especially proud of its hygienic lack of rivets and screws, as well as their hermetically sealed bases that keep out bacteria, food, and dirt.

DemeyereAtlantis.jpgDemeyere Atlantis has few but universally five star reviews at Amazon. One says of a saucepan with lid, “One of the most frequently used items in our kitchen. I like that Demeyere welds on the handle instead of using rivets. The pot is totally dishwasher friendly. We no longer buy anything that we can't toss into the dishwasher. Life is too short to be scrubbing pots. It is very easy to maintain and seems like it will last forever. With a modicum of care, your grandkids will be passing this down to their grandkids.”

Another reviewer says of the conical santeuse pan without lid, “The 7 alloys make that the pan heats up very quickly and evenly. The heat spreads over the entire pan, which is very helpful when reducing the sauce. It is very easy to clean and after more then a year of regular use it still looks as new.”

Demeyere Apollo

Demeyere Apollo offers 20 different vessels and lids at quite a few different sizes, and is therefore one of their more extensive lines. It, along with the Atlantis line, is recommended for professional chefs. Apollo includes a large number of specialized products such as conical sauce pans, special frying pans, steam cookers and woks. All the straight sided pots and pans in the Demyere Apollo line have a 7-ply base (aluminum and stainless steel) and a heavy 18/10 stainless steel body for the best thermo conductivity possible. The conical and other shapes have a 7-ply material comprised of aluminum and stainless steel alloys all the way up to the rim, again, so that the heat conduction is ideal for the shape of the vessel.

Apollo exteriors have one of Demeyere 's signature surface treatments called Silvinox, which gives the stainless steel the shine of polished silver. The Silvinox treatment keeps the stainless surface from discoloring, will not dull or tarnish, and is easy to clean.

DishwasherSafe.gifHandles are large stainless steel. Demeyere is especially cognizant of hygiene , which is one of the company's key concerns. No rivets or screws are used; bottoms of vessels are hermetically sealed in order to keep out dirt and bacteria. All Demeyere products are dishwasher safe for ease of cleaning. Demeyere Apollo cookware is oven safe to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. It's safe for stovetops and is efficient when using induction cooking. It comes with a 30 year warranty.

Demeyere is located in Belgium , founded in 1908 and specializes in top of the line stainless steel cookware . They are unique for their philosophy, which is that each type of cookware deserves its own cooking material. Whether a person is searing, basting, or making a soup makes a difference to Demeyere , therefore they not only offer a lot of specialized products, they also make each vessel of a different thickness of their 5 or 7-ply material.

DemeyereApollo.jpgDemeyere Apollo cookware is readily available for sale at Amazon, although only one five star review has been logged so far, “This was a nice addition to my Demeyere set. It replaced a less expensive stainless stock pot that had rivets that caught food and made cleaning difficult. This one is nice and smooth inside and out. And it works great with my induction cook top (my reason for buying the Apollo line).”
